" TRINIDAD DE CUBA ... is the best preserved colonial town on the continent. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Trinidad is not only lovely and colourful, its history is as fascinating as its culture is rich and its traditions, music and dance vibrant. The town, surrounded by spectacular vistas, a turquoise sea and undulating green mountains, its valleys, its rivers and waterfalls is also a living museum and a paradise for photographers " — Christopher Baker, Moon Handbooks

BE ADVISED
On your arrival at the bus terminal or at the entrance ofd the town by car or cab the infamous local jineteros (buquenques) (hustlers) will have you believe anything, ie. the owner of this casa is dead, has lost his permit or any other story to get you to follow him to a casa where he wants a commission. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM and if they insist, answer firmly no me moleste (don't bother me) and be on your way...
