Overlooking, on the village side, the bay of La Boca, Manolo and Silvia's casa offers a grand view of the sea (ie, al mar). Translates into Looking at the Sea. From its balcony, one can see the mountains in the back, the bay, the beach (Playita del Rio) and the mouth (boca) of the Guaurabo river. From the El Cubano site, up river, you can ride down the river in a small boat. With its superb view of the sea, the beach and the bay, their casa is out of the ordinary. Beautiful house, beautiful hosts!
Manolo and Silvia are really welcoming and some of the warmest people I met in Cuba. Their house is beautiful, and really open, it is just some steps away from the beach and I would recommend renting a bike (which you can ask Manolo or Silvia to arrange for you) and exploring from La Boca all the way to Playa Ancon. Across the hallway (leading to the kitchen in back) the two original bedrooms each with their ensuite bathroom. Kitchen in back is used by Manolo to prepare breakfasts, when offered; the other side, - opening to an empty lot has a hammock and books. Manolo and his esposa live in their newly-built independent casa in the back of the lot. Car and bike parking on enclosed, secure premises (security cameras et al). Roof sun mirador. | "5 nights at Hostal Vista el Mar was the highlight of our trip." "Completely "off the grid" - no T.V. , phones or internet for me to have to deal with - pure heaven! Manolo and Sylvia made us feel so welcome in their well maintained hostal. The room was nice with A/C and a nice ensuite bathroom. Meals taken on the veranda were excellent. Fresh mangos from their tree along with so much more fresh fruit and vegetables along with fresh fish that we watched being caught daily right across the road from us. Sylvia's cooking was great and her friendly service was much appreciated. Manolo is a classic rock fan so we enjoyed listening to lots of old favorites from our past while enjoying the sunset on the wraparound veranda. We enjoyed wandering around the little village of Playa la Boca. Not much there but in the main square you can get a small cheese pizza for 1CUC. If you want sit down service, pop into the Galeon Restaurant and for 2 CUC they will serve you a small Hawaiian Pizza (Ham & Pineapple) or if you're a big spender you can get a Shrimp pizza for 3CUC along with your ice cold Cristal or Bucanero for 1.50 CUC." Su amplia experiencia le servirá. En la entrada a la derecha una sala pequeña con sillas. Las ventanas de la parte delantera, dos en la terraza con sombra o al costado comedor con su magnífica vista ... al mar. |
