" We were met by the Coro family, including Tomasa, Maria Luisa and Jésus. Hospitality and easy contact with this exceptional family (along with Judy and Emilio) were part of why we fell in love with Viñales and the region.
" Tomasa — who still cooks great chicken al forno and does wonders with comidas criollas — and daughter Maria Luisa are simple, attaching and discreet women. Apart from being great cooks, they are good company, as their kindness and good humor are communicative.
" Jésus, now in his Seventies, is a very attaching man with an impressive culture. He is very able at telling visitors about culture, flora and fauna of the region and will walk the valley with the casa's guests or kindly show them his own impressive garden."
The new bedroom in the back is separated from tha main casa and allows for an independent entrance going by the casa; one ac bedroom with ensuite bath with a terrace on the roof, allowing for views of the valley; on the other side, the roof dominates the beisbol playing field.

" Casa Tomasa is a quiet and very clean house with one only bedroom equiped with two double beds and a private hot water bathroom; a second bedroom in the back in its own building was inaugurated in summer 2011.
Visitors can enjoy, on request, all three meals in the casa.

" The place is different in a very unique way : Jesus has organised, in his backyard, a one-of-a-kind prehistoric garden/park.
" He gives free tours with many details on paleontology, anthropology, natural and traditional medecine, as well as the history and culture of Vinales. "
Rates : 15 CUC for the bedroom, 3 CUC for breakfast and 7 to 8 CUC for other meals. Food is authentic, delicious with generous portions.
