	Upstairs of this colonial lives a golden age couple : Mery and husband "Pete", thus named by his father, a traveling pharmaceutical rep before the Révolucion and an accomplished intellectual who amassed a hugely impressive collection of varied literature (more than 15,000 works, unique in Cuba). His son conserves it in great state and is just as knowledgeable as his father was, passing from Marti to Molière while touching on Maugham. Mery runs the casa renting two bedrooms : one with an exterior independent bathroom accessed from the hallway between the living room and the dining room. The other, way in the back, behind the kitchen has a built-in work desk and a private indoor bathroom. Mery is charming and always glad to greet her visiting grand-daughters (nietas). Excellent meals. An address to be noted. Rates : 20-25cuc per nite per bedroom; ask prices of svces before ordering and don't try to negotiate ; )
