Leticia holds a degree in Education and a career as an interpreter of Hindi to Spanish while Giraldo is a plumber by trade. With working compadres, it took the couple eight years to renovate from top to bottom this lovely colonial.
The trabajadores were photographed and displayed in the dining room, whose ceiling Leticia has helped decorate, applying by hand, to repeat every detail in shades of red. The couple has three air conditioned bedrooms, each with unique hot water heaters (new on the Cuban market) for the bathrooms (two inside and one black bathroom with shower and bath please, outside the great room with cedar closet. In the kitchen one can admire the beautiful woodwork of the cabinets. The house has a patio with rocking chair in front by the main bedroom, independently-located from the main casa building. Another on the back patio overlooks the dining room with its own adjacent patio, equiped with chairs and table and an Amrican-style barbecue, albeit homemade in Havana. Breakfasts are served. Rates: per room per night 30cuc |
