Located on quiet Gervasio street close to the famous La Guarida paladar as well as the seaside Malecon boulevard, this lovely home is run by a kind and hospitable retired couple.
Nilo — of the close to 500 casa owners we know on the island — is by far the one with the most hospitality experience, having worked some 43 years for major Havana hotels.
He knows what strings to pull to make an ordinary stay turn into a memorable estancia.
Their large colonial with its lovely double-arched living room features a long pasillo along which some three double bedrooms await guests.
Each of the well-decorated and compact aircon bedroom has two beds (the third only one double) has great amenities and beautiful furniture and a private bathroom.
Meals are served in the homey comedor in the back; while sharing food and meeting other travellers or friends of Cary and Nilo is a great way of discovering Havana and its gentes; laundry service.
The couple knows every nook and cranny of their neighbourhood, their town and its surroundings.
