GUSTAVO y YALINA
Gustavo Escalona Guzman
Yalina Rodriguez Silot
Flor Crombet 125, entre Frank Pais y Pelayo Cuervo in town center on a quiet centrally-located stretch of street, walking distance to the Malecon and the main plaza. Tel. (21) 64-2536 cell 05 281 3579

One of Cuba's Top 10 casas — a perennial favorite of travellers.
This is a fairly large colonial built in 1890 by a coffee dealer from Marseille. Gustavo's great-grandfather inherited it. Yalina has French ancestry, as do a lot of Baracoans

Located on a quiet street, it opens on to a well-decorated living room with a great antique dining room set and three air-conditioned bedrooms each with its private bathroom and lovely wooden wall panels and louvers. One is accessed from a naturally-lit patio where Yalina's muy rico chocolate greets guests for breakfast.

Dinners are mastered by Neubi, a descendant of aboriginals who, in our humble opinion is the best casa chef on the island : mark our words.

On the roof, a lovely terrace from where Mount Yara and the sea can be seen. The lovely couple lives with their teenage daughter. Assured parking on the street.
